Three goals in the first half of the opening period turned out to be to much of a deficit to overcome, even though the Mustangs played an improved final half of the first and a strong second period.
The third period saw Upper Maitland relying away to much on Robertson in net to keep the game in reach as numerious turnovers in the defensive zone and undisciplined penalties at the end of the game gave the visiting squad ample chances to blow this game out. Robertson's athletic ability and character kept the score reasonable.
