Heartbreaker in Overtime for Howick Atoms
The Howick Atoms started their Saturday off early with a 9:10 game in Mildmay. The game was against the Elma-Logan team.  The players seemed a little tired in the dressing room. As the time drew closer for the game, the team seemed to wake up.  The team knew that they were going to have to play hard in this game.  After last nights win in double overtime, the team was ready to play hard!

During the first period both teams were playing hard.  There were several key plays by Ryan Dinsmore (10) that helped to keep the other team from getting shots on goal.  Both teams were managing to get some shots on net. Shelby Foster (1) was working hard to keep the puck out of the net.  The Elma-Logan goalie made some good saves as well. With 2:05 left on the clock, Elma-Logan scored their first goal.
The second period was a lot of passing and attempts to score. Again, the goalies were guarding their nets.  Both teams kept pressing trying to score the next goal.  Howick was denied several goals.  There as some really good passing going on between the Howick players.  With 6:37 left on the clock, Elma-Logan scored their second goal.  Howick worked hard at trying to get the puck past the other goalie.
Third period action included Howick getting two goals to tie up the game.  Daniel Wood (6) scored the first goal at 9:23 in the third.  Bryson Bennett (3) scored the second goal with 4:12 left on the clock.  Wood got the assist on that goal.  Howick managed to keep Elma-Logan from scoring in the third period.  The score was tied 2-2 at the end of the third.
Overtime, was a nail biter for the fans. Many were sitting on the edge of their seats.  Howick kept pressing trying hard to get the go ahead goal.  Unfortunately, with 1:32 left on the clock, Foster got left to defend the goal by herself and the player managed to put it past her.  It was a good team effort for the entire game.  Defensemen, must make sure not to get caught to far up the ice.
Howick will play again Saturday afternoon in Mildmay. The time is yet to be determined.
Good luck team! GO HOWICK!
Remember, try not to leave the goalie alone, everyone on the team needs to help protect the goalie!
