Howick Atoms win Against Hanover
The third game of the Mildmay Tournament saw Howick playing against the Hanover Falcons.  The game was at 4:10 on Saturday at the Mildmay arena.  The team had managed to get a bit of time to rest up for the game.  The players were excited while getting ready for the game. There were plenty of fans there watching the game.

The first period of the game was an action packed period.  Howick and Hanover were both working hard to win the game.  Both teams wanted to win to move on to the consolation finals.  The puck was moving from end to end.  The fans were really into the game. With 3:37 left on the clock, Daniel Wood (6) gets his first goal of the game.  Brett Harding (57) received the assist on that goal.  Howick kept pressing Hanover.  With only a few seconds left in the period, Wood passed it to Bryson Bennett (3) who took the shot on goal.  The goalie was down and the whistle had not yet blown when Nathan Versteeg (33) kept poking at the puck and it went in.  The entire line got credit for that goal. Versteeg with the goal, Wood and Bennett got assists.
The second period, both teams came out playing hard again.  Both goalies were working hard between the pipes.  Shelby Foster (1) was making excellent saves for the team.  The team kept working hard and the puck kept moving from end to end.  With 1:27 left in the period, Foster was left alone to protect her net. The Hanover player managed to put the puck in the net. Howick needs to remember to not to get so far from the net.  The period ended 2-1 for Howick.
The third period, Foster was keeping Howick in the game. Foster was working very hard in net.  Good work Shelby!  Havover was trying hard to get that goal to tie up the game.  With 7:26 left on the clock, Wood scores his second goal of the game. The fans were excited and so was the team!  Foster kept playing hard in the net.  Hanover pulled their goalie with two minutes left in the game.  Howick worked hard at keeping them away from Foster.  With 38.7 seconds left, Wood scores his third goal of the game. The assist went to Ryan Dinsmore (10). The final score was 4-1 for Howick. It was a great game!
The MVP for this game was Shelby Foster (1)! She did very well in net!
So by winning this game, Howick was going to the consolation finals.  The next game was at 6:30 in Mildmay against Tiverton.  The whole team, coaching staff and the fans were excited to be going on to the next game!
