Exhibition Game #2: Howick vs Wingham
The Howick Atoms pulled on their green away jerseys and travelled to Wingham to play an exhibition game against the Ironmen on Sunday Oct 19th.
With extra skating room out on the ice compared to our Howick ice, a high scoring game was to be expected, but strong goal tending from both teams kept the game at a 2-2 final. All The Howick kids were skating hard this game, trying to out do the opposing team. With Howick behind in the score, 2-1 in the later part of the game, a tying goal scored by Jayden Grass put the Hornets even again. A late deke to the left and again to the right made by Jayse Wylie at the end of the game with a big shot at the net nearly had the Hornets go up by one but another save from the Wingham goalie kept the game a tie. Second goal by the Hornets was also scored by Jayden Grass with an assist coming from Avery Harding. The next game for the Atom Howick Hornets will be the league home opener this Friday night, Oct 24th at 8:00pm as they play Hanover #2.
