Night and Day
Preparing for the start of a game is vital in the the effort that is shown on the ice. This was evident in the final result of each of the last two games the Atom Rep's have participated in.
The Atom Hornet's have developed into a team that, as game time approaches, settles into a quiet focused team.
This was not the case in a recent playoff match in Port Elgin and the result was no surprise at Howick fell 10-3 to Saugeen Shores.
Williams scored twice and Bennett added a single marker for Howick. McNichol was rewarded with the only assist on the Bennett goal.
Last weekend saw a focused Atom Hornet squad invade the Bayshore Community Complex in Owen Sound. The result? A 3-2 come from behind victory!
After falling behind 2-0 in the second, Bennett cut to the high slot and lifted a backhander that cleared the Attack goalie and dropped in just under the cross bar to put Howick on the score sheet.
Shortly after an Attack penalty Quinn Wormington and Jericho McNichol combined to setup Gillian Dinsmore to even the game at 2 in the third frame.
With time ticking down Wormington and Jackson Fischer combined to setup Berlyn Garniss for the game winner with just under two minutes remaining.
Once again Dayden Frey came up huge while defending the threaded web holding the Attack to just a two goal lead until the Hornet offence got fired up!
