Heipel Showing Leadership
The Hornets deserved a better result then a 5-2 loss Thursday night as their work ethic was present in a strongly played game. They created plenty of scoring chances, but without result.
The leadership abilities of Nathan Heipel have been present since the out set of the playoffs. His yeoman like work ethic in all situations (5 on 5, pk, pp) and in all areas of the game. He added another 2 points tonight with a goal and an assist, shown his versatility by playing both defence and centre, making good decisions in his own end and winning important faceoffs in all zones.
Evan Hoffele opened the scoring for Howick in the opening frame.
B.Devlin, M. Brooks and Kuepfer tallied helpers tonight as well.
After a couple of practices next week, the Hornets resume their playoff schedule in Goderich next Friday against the Sailors.
