Big Win for Mustangs!
West Grey came to Howick on Monday night for an exhibition game. The Mustangs came out skating hard and were rewarded with a 4-0 victory for their first win of the year.
This was also the first win in two seasons for the peewee team and the dressing room reflected that fact after the game. Game MVP was Shelby Foster who stopped all shots for her first win and a shut out! Late in the first period Carly Kreller opened the scoring with her third goal of the year on a break away going 5 hole on the goalie. Sydney Pruden scored her team leading 5th goal of the year picking up a rebound from the back on the net and hammering it home to take the 2 goal lead late in the second period. Assists went to Carly Kreller and Landis King. Halfway through the 3rd period Hanna Gerber split the D and went in on a break away and scored her 1st goal of the year to ensure the victory. Assists went to Rachel Mills and Bailey Shiell. With The West Grey goalie pulled Sara Gottfried scored her first goal of the year as Sydney Pruden hit Sara on a 2 on 1 with Sara finding the net. Syd picked up the assist. " The Mustangs played a great game and all players were awesome. Our goalie was strong and the defence of Landis King, Sara Gottfried, Rachel Mills and Madison Jacklin had an excellent game keeping the puck out of our zone."
