Keeping up the good work!!!
The Howick Hornets Novice team gave a hard fought battle but have come up short on the 3 playoff games played so far. The 1st game went into OT after a great effort with a short bench.

The kids had to reserve energy by making longer passes. Kyson Williams opened up the scoring with an end to end rush but the Howick Hornets could not hang onto the lead sending the game into overtime. Unfortunately West Grey had a hard shot from the point that got past the goalie Dayden Frey. Coach Pete mentioned it was several players best game of the season.

The next playoff game was against Minto on an early Saturday morning. The kids had a tougher game going down in defeat 6-2.

The kids came out with a better effort against the South Bruce team back in Howick on Friday night. The teams passing continued to improve. Dayden Frey came out a solid effort in net and Howick was able to mount several offensive attacks scoring 2 goals. Unfortunately Howick was done by 2 goals with 4 minutes remaining. With the goalie pulled the coaching staff felt is was going to be a similar outcome as the Canadian Ladies hockey team but it felt short losing 4-2. Kids did mention they had fun during the game and we keep working on truly acting as a team.
