Puck Pressure........Provide Results
The midget Mustangs to a player pressured the visiting Predators from the Bruce Penninsula Monday night into forced errors and turnovers which lead to multiple scoring chances. As the local gals presented coach Miller her Christmas present in the form of a 3-0 shut-out.
The Mustangs first two goals came as a result of the afore mentioned pressure applied on the Predators defense.
First the line of Johnston, Hawthorne and Senek battled for possession that paid off with Brooke Senek firing home the opening marker of the game.
Then Sydney Carson scored to up the lead to two as a result of Carson, Charlebois and Hussey pinning the Predators into a defensive turnover.
Upper Maitlands third goal came off of a Holly Nelson slap shot from outside the Bruces' blueline. Even though she only connected partly on the rolling puck it ressembled an R.A. Dickey knuckle ball and the Predator goalie looked like J.P. Arencibia trying to stop it. As the Preditors goalie moved to her right the puck fluttered to her left and bounced into the open side of the cage.
Nikita Bettridge recorded the shutout in goal by being ready when needed during the contest.
