Returning to Form
After a rough couple of weeks where the Midget Hornets only managed to score six goals in five games, all losses, the offense awoke from its slumber Tuesday night. Howick matched their output from those previous games with a 6-1 victory over South Bruce.

The Hornets got right down to business, pressing the play and spending most of their time in the offensive zone. It wasn't long until their efforts paid off. Kyle Dickert and Graham Devlin broke into the South Bruce end. A big rebound off Devlin's shot gave Dustin Robertson a wide open cage to fire home the opening goal. Late in the period Devlin widened the lead, with Evan Fraser assisting.

The second period saw chances at both ends. Howick wasn't able to grow their lead, but thanks to superb goaltending from Blake Fraser, South Bruce was unable to get on the board. Fraser's job was made easier thanks to great defending from Cole Meyer, Kenzie Brooks and Tristan Brears, as well as the forwards who choked off passing lanes, leaving South Bruce with few opportunities on offense.

Howick was not happy sitting on their two goal lead in the third. Devlin scored his second of the game two minutes in to open the flood gates. Only a minute later Roberston found Brears open at the blue line. His slap shot was too much for the goalie to smother and Dickert's quick hands shoveled the rebound home before the keeper could react. South Bruce finally found the board as a shot from the blue line was tipped through a forest of bodies, past a screened Blake Fraser.

Blake's younger brother Evan was the next to find the twine. The goal capped off a three point game for Fraser. The final dagger came with a little under three minutes left. Robertson's second goal of the game was assisted by Matt Schraa as well as Brears. A strong effort from the entire team led to a convincing win.
