Confidence Building
The Mitchell Meteors defeated the Hornets 3-0 tonight at the Hornets Nest despite a huge effort by all members of the home side.
Confidence was at an all time high after the game tonight!
Although coach Hussey has stated all year that the most important thing that he looks for in each game is improvement in positional play and effort. The scores have not always reflected that part of the teams performance. So tonight's score, was the reason for the excitement and confidence that beamed from the Atoms faces.
Learning to play without the puck can be a long and trying process. However, this team has slowly started to see that a strong fore check and a willingness to compete for the puck results in you actually playing with the puck more often, which also leads to shots towards the opposition's net and scoring chances.
