Growing Pains
The last three games that the Atom Hornets have played, have shown just how much they have improved and how much ground still needs to be tilled.

A strongly played first period against Saugeen Shores at Hockey Day in Howick, which to date has been this groups best period of play this season, saw them skate to a one all draw against a very strong team. However the Storms talent and relentless commitment to a strong fore check helped them prevail over the home town team. Kyson Williams bulged the twine for the Hornet's.
On Wednesday BCH arrived and a full game played at a competitive level from start to finish was orchestrated from this merry band of Hornets. Williams once again tallied Howick's only goal, with others having their opportunities. Dayden Frey stood tall in net and the defence played a stronger more energetic game in front of him.
The following night a trip to Wingham saw Howick score a season high 4 goals!  Jericho McNichol and Williams notched two goals each for these road warriors.
But inconsistency plagued their play on this night.
It took nearly half the first period for them to find their legs and bring their game up to speed.
The second was a reversal of the first. Started strong but finished week. They were challenged to finish strongly in this game and responded!
Carrying, rushing, shooting, passing and moving the puck created numerous opportunities in the offensive zone and in getting it there. Back checking and competing for loose pucks as well as strong board play showed the good side of this units progress!
Stick with it gang! As you were told back in the fall, making the team was only the first step in the journey!
