Blogging about Milverton
The first game of the weekend and the best game the Atom's have played yet! The team was excited and ready to play!
During the first period, the team was playing aggressive and Shelby Foster (1) in goal was awesome! The team really put in a great effort. Milverton is one of the top teams in the league and it was great to see Howick working so hard. Landis King (29) and Liam Gibson (20) both got penalties for tripping in the first period. It was 3-0 for Milverton after the first.
The second period saw many more shots on goal and Foster kept stopping as many pucks as she could. The team was still playing hard and trying to help Foster out. Again, the defence did get caught a few times in the wrong positions but a great effort was given by all. It was 10 - 0 after the second.
The third period was the best third period this Atom team has ever had. They continued on and did not run out of steam. Howick did manage several shots on goal, but were unsuccessful in putting them behind the goal line. Foster again was holding her own between the pipes! King got a penalty for tripping. It was great to see the team keep going and not slow down in the third period. In the end it was 12 - 0 for Milverton, but the Howick team deserved credit for having their best game yet. The shots on Howick's net was 55. Foster played a great game as did the rest of the team!
