Howick Atoms win against Tiverton
On Wednesday night, the Howick Atoms played Tiverton in Howick at 7:00 pm.  The team had a break from hockey and they seemed focused when they headed out to the ice.  There was plenty of fan support in the stands.  Everyone was ready for the game to get underway.
The first period saw lots of action in both ends.  Howick was pressing hard to score a goal.  There was a few shots on both goalies. They were working hard at keeping the puck out of their nets.  Both Tiverton and Howick kept the puck moving for the entire period.  With 22 seconds left in the first period, Daniel Wood (6) scores the first goal of the game. The assist went to Brad Reaman (73).

The action continued in the second period.  The fans were yelling their advice to the players.  I don't know if the players hear most of it, but sometimes it is interesting to listen to!  The puck kept moving from end to end for the period.  Both teams were trying hard to score the next goal.  With 5:22 left on the clock, Reaman (73) scored the second goal.  There was more shots on the goalies in this period. Both goalies were doing very well!  There was some really goods saves.  Both teams were denied goals for the rest of the period.
In the third period, both teams came out working hard.  The fans were enjoying a good game.  Again, Shelby Foster (1) was playing really well in the net for Howick.  Tiverton started to put some pressure on and they succeeded in scoring a goal with 11:31 left on the clock.  Howick got a tripping penalty. They were able to keep Tiverton from scoring during the penalty.  Howick managed to score while short handed. Wood (6) tipped the puck up and it went right over the goalie and into the net for a goal.  Many more attempts were made on goal by both teams but those goalies were not letting the puck go by them.  With 4:24 left on the clock, Wood (6) scores the fourth goal of the game.    Howick needs to remember to play their positions and not get caught by the other team.  With 1:12 left on the clock, Wood (6) scores the last goal of the game.
It was a great game to watch! The team worked hard for the win.  The coaches, players and fans were happy about the win!  Foster had a great game in net! She really helped the team to stay in the game!  On a side note, it was Shelby's birthday today and she did awesome in net! Happy Birthday from the team!
Next game is in Hanover on Saturday March 9th at 2:00 p.m.  The team is looking forward to the game.
Remember, try and play your positions and keep your sticks on the ice!
